b. Rainlendar desktop calendar

Debug logs

The debug log is automatically created and stored to the user's home folder. By default the log only contains errors and warnings but it can be configured to include all e.g. all data when communicating with network calendars. The log is only stored locally. It is never automatically send to any network server. Authentication information is automatically stripped from the logs.

Calendar data

By default Rainlendar stores all calendar data only locally. It is possible to connect to network calendar servers in which case the events are stored to the online server. Rainlendar does not provide an calendar server so such services are from 3rd parties. You need to explicitly configure Rainlendar to connect to the 3rd party service. Note that the privacy policy of 3rd party services is out of scope for this document. Please consult the 3rd party service's privacy policy before connecting Rainlendar with their calendar server. All calendar data from network services is stored in memory unless offline copy is enabled.

Offline copy

When enabled for a network calendar the events and tasks are stored to the user's home folder. The data is used in the calendar when there is no network connectivity to the online calendar server. The offline copy is always kept only on the user's computer.

Backup files

Rainlendar creates automatic backup files every time it starts. The backup file contains the user's settings, license file and locally stored calendar data (including the offline copy files). The backup files are stored to the user's home folder and never automatically sent to any network server. By default the autmatic backup files are retained 10 days.

Version checks

Rainlendar can do automatic version checks from the website on startup. The version checks get stored to the Rainlendar website's webserver log.
